I will be attending the Sin With The Saints event in Utah in August of this year. I am going with author Julie Morgan as her assistant but she is being gracious enough to let me use both this event and The Novel Experience Event in Atlanta in March to market and network my Editing business.
When I saw the request for sponsors for Sin With The Saints yesterday, at first, I just started to ignore it like I always do. Then I read it. There were three levels of sponsorship and all three seemed very reasonable in price. Of course, the higher the fee, the more publicity and recognition the sponsor received. So I went with Level 3 sponsorship-- the highest of the three levels. It was sill under $100 and allowed me to have my logo and link on their website, my logo on the banner at the event as well as in the event program. In addition, I get to put swag in the swag bags that are being given to event participants.
Seriously? This is amazing. I designed the logo to go on the website last night-- I tied it in with the logo on the business cards and the business banner that I have. It is also the logo on the favicon for this website. I made it simple and, in my own humble opinion, elegant. No frou-frou here.
But I am very excited about the opportunity to get my business out to a room full of authors and readers-- many of whom tend to be inspiring authors themselves. And with the event in August, my logo will be on the website for quite some time. I guess I need to start asking clients and potential clients how they heard of me so that I can track marketing tools and determine which are the most successful.
I think I might start liking this marketing and networking even more than I thought I would!
